Kongeskipet NORGE
The ships of the Norwegian king
In April 1947 there was a call to the Norwegian people to participate in a gift to the king. In July of the same year, the British "Philante" was bought for this purpose. The Philante was a yacht that went off the stack in 1937 and was the largest motor -driven sports boat that was ever built by a British shipyard.
On the occasion of King Haakon's 75th birthday, a model of the ship was presented. The original should be ready in the summer of 1948 after a comprehensive restoration as a new royal ship of Norway. On May 17, 1948, the captain of the ship was able to raise the command and pimp. The KS Norge arrived in Oslo on June 7, and the handover took place two days later, on June 9, 1948.
King Haakon VII and the royal family used the royal ship for trips inside and outside of Norway. The last trip of the king with KS Norge was the inauguration of the "Kongebjerken" memorial in Molde.
King Olav V and his family also often used the cones kipet. There were visits to the districts and abroad. The same applies to today's king, King Harald and his family.
The KS Norge is the property of the king, but is operated by sea defense. The crew consists of 18 officers and 36 conscripts. These are mainly recruited by the KNM Harald Hårfagre in Stavanger.
The elegant and timeless profile of the congregation hides the age of the ship. This is due to the extensive maintenance and restoration work that was carried out. The main work was carried out on March 7, 1984 after a catastrophic fire of the ship. Many believed that the ship was lost, but it reappeared in new splendor, as we know it today.
Wood kit with all fittings and LED lighting. The model can be built as a stand model or as a driving model for operation with a remote control. During the expansion as a RC model, there is also further supply, such as remote control, rowing servo, driver, motors, wave system, clutch and battery.
